Good afternoon, Coaches!
We are excited to host you for the 54th Ponderosa Invitational.
MEET DOCS ATTACHED:
- Timelines for Prelims & Finals - Remind parents these are estimated timelines. Our meet ref will do his best to stay close to the timelines and not go too far ahead but we could be 10-15 ahead. Please be sure kids are in place at the correct time.
- Warm-Ups –
- We have designated lanes for dives during each session of warm-ups to give teams in the diving well access to dives from blocks. For safety, please be sure to adhere to the direction of dives lanes.
- Please reiterate with swimmers that there is no diving in the warm-up pool and that only the first few lanes are open during the meet. Lanes that are blocked off shall remain closed.
- Timing Assignments – please be sure you have volunteers ready for shifts as appropriate for your team.
- As always, we will reserve the first portion of the spectator seating directly across from the diving well for swimmers to be able to set up inside rather than staying outside. Swimmers must bring towels and shoes to the deck to go up in the lobby or seating area. This rule shall be enforced for the safety of everyone as the floors get very slippery when they are wet.
- NO STADIUM SEATS ALLOWED IN THE COME-AND-GO-SEATING AREAdirectly across from the Competition Pool. Remind parents that this section is to watch their swimmer race, then move out of the area to allow other parents the opportunity to watch their swimmer. Any parents found to not adhere to this policy, will be asked to relocate. This section will be roped off until 10 minutes before the start of the session. No sitting in this section until we open the section up for come-and-go seating only.
- Swimmers are to sit in bleachers on deck or in the first section of spectator seating across from the dive well or outside. There are to be no swimmer chairs or seating at the competition pool. This area is for coaches only and to allow for a walkway through the venue. Limit of one chair per coach on deck please.
- Doors for our Volunteers and Officials will open at 6 AM;Doors to the public will be open at 6:20 AM. Please do not bang on the doors if you see others inside. Aquatics have been directed to open at designated times.
- Upon Arrival, please be sure coaches check in. ALL COACHES MUST HAVE NWAL BADGE AND PICTURE ID. We apologize if this is an inconvenience, but we do not know all the coaches in the NWAL league. Be prepared in case one of our regular folks isn’t at the check-in table and requests an ID because they don’t know you.
- The small parking lot in the front of the venue is for officials and volunteers and those with special needs. Please be courteous and allow those parking spaces to be available
- Per CyFair ISD – tent set up is not allowed on the grassy areas next to the natatorium. Tents must have a drive lane between the venue and the tent set up.
PAYMENTS:
Please be sure payments are made before you enter the deck. Payments can be made at the check-in table.
For those bringing checks, please give the check at the check-in table.
GLASS WALL:
There is absolutely no leaning against, leaning over, climbing or standing idle at or on the glass wall across the spectator area.
There is no standing behind the glass wall across from concessions. This area shall remain clear of spectators to allow flow of traffic.
And there is ABSOLUTELY NO photography behind the blocks of the competition area whether at the area across from concessions or from the glass wall in the lobby/bathroom areas. All persons with phones in this area will be asked to put phones away.
INCLEMENT WEATHER:
During inclement weather, the meet will continue as the CyFair natatorium pool is grounded. Spectators will be asked to relocate to vehicles outside the facility to allow swimmers, coaches, and meet personnel to remain indoors and to continue with the meet.
We ask that you remind parents of this procedure.
We look forward to many fast swims and more broken records!
Best of luck to your teams and swimmers!
