Meet at Cypresswood

LOE Dolphin Families,

Depending on which weather site you look at, we are looking at 80% - 100% chance of rain/thunderstorms on Saturday.

Our Team Rep, Garrett Davis, has been in daily communication with the Team Rep from Cypresswood and both teams are closely monitoring the weather.

At this time, NO OFFICIAL DECISION HAS BEEN MADE regarding our meet on Saturday. We may not know until early Saturday morning the status of our meet.

If you have not already done so, please sign up for our team Remind service by texting @loeswim to 81010. This will be the official communication tool used to communicate the status of our meet on Saturday. Please be advised that you could possibly be receiving an update very late Friday night or extremely early Saturday morning. We make it a point not to send messages late at night or before 6:00 a.m. but we must make an exception this time. If you do not receive a message, the meet is still on as planned.

Both teams are hoping that Mother Nature cooperates and we will be able to proceed with the meet as scheduled and get through at least event 60. According to the NWAL Rule Book, if we can swim and get through event 60, the meet is considered complete and we do not have to do anything else.

If the meet is postponed, we will have to come up with a date that works for both teams and re-schedule the meet. The meet has to be re-scheduled prior to our next scheduled meet (5/18/2019). The only date possible would be on Sunday, May 11th. If we have to, we will reach out to NWAL to see if we can schedule the meet for another time after 5/18/2019, however, there will still be some logistical issues both teams would need to address.

The issue is that Sunday is Mother’s Day, and people have church. Monday – Friday next week is not an option because the kids have school, end of year banquets, etc. going on, and work for our adults. We realize that Sunday is not an ideal day for either team but we wanted to let you know that it could possibility.

We just want to let everyone know what we are dealing with in regards to the weather and a potential rescheduling of the meet. Last Saturday was supposed to be a wash out and it ended up being a beautiful day.

Thanks,

The LOE Dolphins Board
